This Web of Promises is the premier episode of Tumblr Survivor: Uncharted Islands. The episode begins on January 3, 2016 when the cast was released revealing 18 new players. The title was said by Kevin in one of his confessionals.

Summary

The game begins! The Cortes and Pizarro tribes bonded quickly but they could not be more different. Cortes was a very quiet and reserved tribe whereas Pizarro was the party tribe and talked nonstop in their alliance chats and the tribe chat.

Pizarro also had a lot of strong personalities, namely Jaiden and Ricardo, that annoyed some of the other players, particularly Tyler. The major alliances formed were Cortes’ The Super Cool Alliance of Riley, Jack, Kevin, Kiersten, and Jillian and Pizarro’s TBD Alliance of Carson, Jaiden, and Ricardo. Jaiden immediately wanted to turn on Ricardo and vote him out because…. well, I’m still not really sure. Because he’s Jaiden, I guess.

Emmon was told about the TBD Alliance - Jaiden used this to turn Emmon against Ricardo so he could carry out his blindside Ricardo plan despite most others on the tribe wanting out Emmon or Tyler in the event of losing. The object of the Pizarro’s affection was Andrew who seemed to be loved by everyone but particularly the young boys.

Both Nicole and Kiersten were worried that people on their tribes would discover they know players on the other tribes. They wanted their pre-game relationships to lie low and avoid making them targets.

Pizarro went on to win the first reward and immediately broke almost everything. Tyler was the only one to find a map piece but he did not find an idol. Cortes then went on to spectacularly lose immunity and it seemed the vote was between Sora and JC.

Even though Riley/Amelia had a past rivalry with Sora, they decided to push for JC to be the boot due to the fact JC was on less often and was more aggressive with their gameplay. Ultimately, JC was voted out in one of the season’s few unanimous votes in a 8 - 1 vote.

Shelter Building (Post/Results) - Both tribes had to build shelters. They were given a blank image of a beach and had to make something out of whatever they could find. They were judged based on effort, creativity, and visual appeal. The shelters were judged by Katie, Isaac, Pat, and Bran.

Immunity

Common Factor (Post/Results) - The tribes were given a list consisting of pairs and trios of Survivor players. They had to come up with as many common facts about the players in each set as possible. The tribe who came up with the most similarities overall won immunity.
